Difference between hip dysplasia and necrosis of the femoral head

The difference between hip dysplasia and necrosis of the femoral head mainly lies in its different causes and symptoms.

1. Necrosis of the femoral head: also known as ischemic necrosis of the femoral head, is a common intractable disease in orthopedics. It is caused by ischemia of the femoral head due to long-term application of hormones, trauma, decompression sickness, ethanol poisoning and other factors, and is mainly manifested by pain in the buttocks and thighs, claudication, shortening of the lower limbs and other symptoms. The prognosis of this disease is still good, and most of them can be cured through surgical treatment.

2. Hip dysplasia: it is a common bone and joint deformity and a general term for a series of hip-related deformities. Hip dysplasia occurs at birth, so it is often called congenital hip dysplasia.

The cause of hip dysplasia may be related to acetabular dysplasia, genetic factors, laxity of joint ligaments, abnormal fetal position and other factors. The common clinical symptoms are hip pain, limitation of lower limb movement, and limping gait.

Regardless of hip dysplasia and femoral head necrosis, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time and use conservative treatment or surgery under the guidance of the doctor in order to obtain better treatment results.
