The fact that the lumbar MRI is done without any problem but the buttocks hurt shows that buttock pain is not always caused by lumbar problems such as lumbar disc herniation, buttock trauma, strain, cold, gluteal myofasciitis, sciatic tuberosity bursitis, gluteal epiphyseal neuritis and so on may all cause buttock pain.
1. Hip trauma, strain, cold: Pulling and twisting of hip muscles may cause soft tissue or bone damage, thus causing pain. Cold exposure may cause spasm of the buttock muscles and pain.
2. Gluteal myofasciitis: prolonged sedentary activities may cause persistent strain on the gluteal muscles, resulting in muscle and fascia adhesion, contracture and other lesions, and the muscles will be pulled, spasm and pain.
3. Sciatic Nodal Bursitis: When the bursa of the sciatic node is repeatedly rubbed and pressurized, it will lead to synovial membrane congestion, edema, and inflammatory reaction of the muscle group, thus producing pain. The main manifestation is recurrent pain in and around the buttocks.
4. gluteal epithelial neuritis: mostly occurring in manual laborers, trauma, strain, cold, etc. will stimulate the gluteal epithelial nerve, resulting in pain and numbness in the innervated area and other symptoms.
There may be other reasons for buttock pain, such as buttock infection lesions, femoral head necrosis, sacroiliac arthritis, etc. It is recommended to go to the hospital in time to improve the examination and clarify the cause of the disease.
