HFMD is an infectious disease caused by coxsackie, EV71 and other enterovirus infections. Vaccination against HFMD can only reduce the chances of children being infected, but cannot 100% guarantee that they will not be infected. The treatment is still symptomatic, with the oral cavity being cleaned with drugs such as open-throat sword and light, liquid food, and attention should be paid to complications of HFMD, such as viral myocarditis and central nervous system infections. It is contagious and requires isolation of the home environment and disinfection of worn clothes, dishes, toys, etc.
