Genetic testing is the detection of DNA, immunohistochemistry is the detection of protein levels, the two are different means of detection.
1. Genetic testing is the use of gene chips and other methods to detect the DNA of the examined person, through which it can understand whether the patient has disease-causing genes, the susceptibility of diseases, the sensitivity of malignant tumors to targeted drugs during chemotherapy, and so on.
2. Immunohistochemistry is to determine the antigen by chemical staining method through antigen-antibody reaction, which belongs to protein level detection.
They are two completely different tests, and the choice of which test to use should be based on the patient’s own condition and evaluated by the doctor.
