Is a conotomy major surgery?

Cervical conization is not a major surgery, it is a level II surgery, which is relatively simple to perform and has a shorter recovery period, and is currently used for the surgical treatment of benign cervical lesions. Currently, conical resection is mostly used in cases where the cervical biopsy shows carcinoma in situ and severe atypical hyperplasia of the cervix, in order to determine the extent of the lesion and the presence of infiltration. Conical resection can be used for both treatment and diagnosis of the disease. The procedure involves making a circular incision with a scalpel 0.3 to 0.5 cm outside the cervical lesion in a vertical direction, tilting it inward at 30° to 40°, and gradually performing a conical resection into the deeper part of the cervix. For patients who need conical resection, they need to actively cooperate with the doctor to prepare for the operation. Conotruncal resection is a minor surgery, no need to be overly nervous, follow the doctor’s instructions, active treatment.
