Normal leukorrhea is milky white or colorless and clear, with no odor. The amount of leucorrhea secretion is mainly affected by the hormone level in the body, and will change in volume and texture with the change of menstrual cycle. If the leucorrhea is clear during the pre-ovulatory period, it is mostly normal. This is because during the pre-ovulatory period, the level of estrogen secretion in a woman’s body will rise, which will lead to the proliferation of cervical glandular epithelial cells, resulting in an increase in the secretion of cervical mucus, so there will be an increase in the amount of transparent leucorrhea. If the leucorrhea increases and becomes transparent during pregnancy or when taking the pill, this is also normal. After ovulation, the leucorrhea will become thicker and the amount will decrease. If the leucorrhea is also more, it is not normal and may be caused by inflammation.
