Desensitization therapy for bronchial asthma

Desensitization therapy for bronchial asthma is also called hyposensitization therapy, which is the formal medical term for allergen-specific immunotherapy. First, a serum specific IgE test or allergen skin prick test is required to determine the allergen, which is mites, pollen, or pet fur. Based on the allergen results targeted desensitization treatment is performed. For example, if you are allergic to pollen, you will extract the proteins from the pollen that are likely to cause allergy in humans and perform desensitization treatment. If no common allergens are identified, desensitization treatment cannot be performed. Desensitization treatment takes a relatively long time, requiring small doses and low concentrations of pollen or mite extracts to be injected into the body, and the body slowly develops a tolerance process to it, and the general course of treatment takes 3-5 years. There are two stages, the first is the initial treatment stage, the concentration of desensitization solution injected into the body, from small doses of low concentration slowly increase, to reach the maintenance dose, and later need to continue to consolidate the maintenance amount, it takes about 3 years.
