The validity period of rabies vaccine is counted from the last injection. The validity period is half a year. If you are bitten by a cat again within half a year of receiving the rabies vaccine, you do not need to receive the rabies vaccine; if it is more than half a year, but less than one year, you need to receive two booster shots, and you need to receive the rabies vaccine again after more than one year. Currently there are two standard vaccination procedures for rabies vaccine in China, one is the five-shot method procedure, where one dose is given on the 0th, 3rd, 7th, 14th and 28th days, for a total of five shots. The other method is a four-dose vaccination program, with two doses on day 0, one in the left and one in the right upper arm deltoid muscle, and two more doses on days 7 and 21, for a total of four doses, with day 0 being the day the rabies vaccine is given in its first dose. If you need rabies vaccination, it is recommended that you consult the relevant CDC and get vaccinated under the guidance of a doctor.
