Normally, because of the warm nature of angelica, drinking angelica in summer may cause fire.
Angelica sinensis is the dried root of Angelica sinensis, family Umbelliferae. It is sweet, pungent and warm in nature. It belongs to the liver, heart and spleen meridians. It can nourish blood and activate blood circulation, regulate menstruation and relieve pain, and moisten the bowels. Used for blood deficiency, dizziness, palpitations, menstrual disorders, dysmenorrhea, cold abdominal pain, rheumatic paralysis, bruises, carbuncle (a kind of poisonous sores, occurring on the surface of the body, limbs, internal organs of the acute suppurative disease) sores, intestinal dryness and constipation.
Angelica sinensis is warm in nature, so it is forbidden to be taken by patients with fever and bleeding, and Angelica sinensis has the effect of laxative, so it should be taken with caution by those who are full of dampness (dampness is too heavy to cause fullness and discomfort in the spleen and stomach) and those who have loose stools.
Patients are advised to use the medicine under the guidance of a doctor.
