What is the catheter insertion process

The process of inserting a urinary catheter includes disinfection, insertion and fixation of the urinary catheter.
1. Sterilization: before inserting the urinary catheter, it is necessary to sterilize the perineal area, the external urethral opening, the inner plate of the foreskin, the coronary groove and other parts of the body. After successful insertion of the urethra, the external urethral opening needs to be disinfected twice a day.
2. Insertion and fixation of the urinary catheter: During catheterization, the urinary catheter will be inserted from the urethral opening into the catheter to the bladder. After entering the urethra, the balloon of the catheter should be filled with appropriate amount of saline. The catheter should be properly secured to avoid slipping of the catheter and unintentional pulling of the catheter resulting in urethral bleeding.
The catheter should be operated by a professional doctor to avoid private operation.
