When a patient has elbow valgus in clinical practice, the choice of specific treatment depends on the patient’s age and the degree of elbow valgus. If elbow valgus occurs in children, most of the pathogenesis is due to congenital factors and can be treated conservatively. Traditional Chinese medicine is used to correct the problem by massage, and then the elbow valgus brace is worn for a long time for fixation. If elbow valgus occurs in adults, most of the causes are acquired secondary to the fracture, such as a deformed healing of the humeral condyle, and then elbow valgus occurs. Most of the treatment is surgical, which can be performed under brachial plexus anesthesia with supracondylar wedge osteotomy of the humerus, while intraoperative internal fixation of the plate should be given, and the patient should be instructed to perform early functional exercises of the elbow joint after surgery to prevent joint stiffness and other conditions.
