What is a smallpox formula?

Tian Hua San formula is a traditional Chinese medicine formula that is used to treat thirst and other conditions.
Tian Hua San, extracted from Ren Zhai Zhi Zhi Zhi Fang Lun, Volume 17. It contains the following herbs: smallpox pollen, Radix et Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Radix et Rhizoma Puerariae, Rhizoma Ophiopogonis, Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis and Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae. For specific use, round-grained rice is also added for decoction. This formula has the efficacy of clearing heat, generating fluid and quenching thirst. In clinical practice, it is mostly used for the treatment of thirst (a disease characterized by excessive drinking, excessive eating, excessive urination, emaciation, or urine with a sweet taste).
Adverse reactions, contraindications, and precautions of Tianhua San are not clear.
