Newborns need to take vitamin D supplements under the supervision of a doctor after fifteen days. After birth, newborns are mainly breastfed to fulfill their growth and development needs. However, the content of vitamin D in human milk is low. Newborns born at term should be given vitamin D supplements of 400IU/d under the supervision of doctors a few days after birth, and at the same time, long-term supplementation should be used to maintain the normal development of the fetus and prevent the occurrence of rickets. For preterm infants, low-birth-weight infants, twins and multiple fetuses after birth, vitamin D supplementation should be 800-1000IU/d, and then changed to 400IU/d after three months. Drugs need to follow the doctor’s instructions for rational application, newborns with any discomfort is recommended to consult the doctor in time.
