Polycystic ovarian changes are those in which the ovaries are larger than normal for a woman and cystic changes can be found on them. In a normal woman, the ovaries are about 4 x 3 x 1 cm. In the case of polycystic ovaries, they are much larger than normal ovaries. The most important thing is that there are many small follicles next to the ovaries, which are only 2-9 mm in size and they are ≥12 in number. This condition makes the ovary feel like a necklace. This is due to the fact that the follicles are arranged in a wheel-like pattern around the edge of the ovary, which is medically known as polycystic ovarian changes, and its mostly an ultrasound image of polycystic ovary syndrome.
