Hypertension Specialized Clinic

Hypertension is one of the most common chronic diseases that can lead to stroke, myocardial infarction, heart failure and renal insufficiency, which not only causes high disability and death rate, but also brings heavy burden to families and society. Most of the symptoms of hypertension are headache, dizziness, tinnitus and numbness of limbs, but because some hypertensive patients do not have obvious clinical symptoms, hypertension is also known as the “invisible killer” of human health. Domestic and foreign practice shows that hypertension is a preventable and controllable disease, and lowering blood pressure levels can significantly reduce the occurrence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events. At present, there are about 200 million hypertensive patients in China, of which 130 million do not know they have hypertension, and among those who are known to have hypertension, about 30 million are not treated, and among those who receive medication, 75% of them do not achieve their blood pressure control goals. The Cardiovascular Disease Center of Xiyuan Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, led by Academician Chen Keji, has accumulated a wealth of experience in the early application of combined Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of hypertension. We have simplified the formula of “Qing Dizhi and Lowering Blood Pressure Soup” based on academician Chen Keji’s experience in treating hypertension and made “Qing Dizhi Granules”, which has been proven to have good therapeutic effect on mild to moderate hypertension. At present, we are carrying out research on clinical efficacy, mechanism of action and original Qing dynasty palace medicine archives to further evaluate the therapeutic effect of Qing Dizhi Granules on hypertension and to benefit the people with the famous doctors and palace prescriptions. Based on the standardized treatment of western medicine, we combine the characteristics of Chinese medicine and western medicine to provide individualized one-to-one treatment to patients, in order to control blood pressure, reduce blood pressure fluctuations, improve discomfort, delay and reduce the damage to heart, brain and kidney, and achieve the ideal state of minimal dosage of western medicine, minimal side effects and optimal blood pressure control. The ideal state of optimal blood pressure control is achieved with minimal dosage of western drugs, minimal side effects. In addition, for early detection of mild hypertension, menopausal hypertension, etc., non-pharmacological therapies such as Chinese medicine evidence-based treatment, tea substitution and auricular point pressure beans and acupuncture point compressing have unique advantages. Some early mild hypertension can even be maintained at normal blood pressure level for a longer period of time by adhering to TCM regimen with improved lifestyle.
