What is the earthly remedy to break the root of dampness and heat

There is no such thing as an earth formula to break the root of dampness-heat. Dampness-heat is treated under a doctor’s guidance with formulas such as gentian cathartic liver soup, peony soup, and three-miao pills. Gentian Diarrhea Liver Tang is composed of Scutellaria baicalensis, Plantago ovata, Gentian, Radix et Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Gardenia jasminoides, Mucuna pruriens, Radix Bupleurum, Radix et Rhizoma Zedoariae, Angelica Sinensis, and Glycyrrhiza Uralensis, and it has the efficacy of clearing damp-heat of the liver meridian (the liver meridian feels the damp-heat evil qi), and clearing and diarrhea of solid fire of liver and gallbladder. Longdian Diarrheal Liver Tang can be used in treating the syndrome of damp-heat infiltration in the liver meridian, which is characterized by dribbling in the urine; and the syndrome of inflammation in the liver and gallbladder, which is characterized by dystocia (pain in the area of the coxae and ribs) and swelling of the ears. Contraindications and adverse reactions are not clear. Paeoniae Radix Tang is composed of Angelica Sinensis, Rhubarb, Paeoniae Radix, Betel nut, Scutellariae Radix, Rhizoma Coptidis, Mucuna pruriens, Guan Gui, and Scorched Glycyrrhiza Uralensis, and is effective in regulating Qi and harmonizing the blood, and clearing away heat and drying up dampness (clearing away the heat and drying up the damp). Paeoniae Radix can be used in Damp-Heat Dysentery (dysentery due to damp-heat evil), which is characterized by abdominal pain, burning in the anus, pus and blood in the stool, redness and whiteness, and short and reddish urine (small amount of urine, dark yellow in color). Contraindications and adverse reactions are not clear. San Miao Pill is composed of Sichuan hyssop, cypress and cangzhu, which has the efficacy of clearing heat and drying dampness, and can be used for impotence and paralysis of dampness-heat downstream (dampness and heat evils invading the intestines, bladder, pubic region, lower limbs, etc.), which is seen as swollen and painful or numbness of the feet, impotence, weakness, or like the heat of fire branding.
