How long a polycystic kidney patient can live is different for each patient. Most patients are able to have a life expectancy of about 60-70 years, and some patients, even if they do not develop uremia, may pass away due to other complications of polycystic kidney. The most common cause of death in early-stage polycystic kidney patients is brain hemorrhage, as patients with polycystic kidney are prone to aneurysms in the brain; some patients may die due to recurrent infections of the polycystic kidney, resulting in infectious shock. About 50% of the patients will enter uremia when they are about 60 years old, of course, some patients may enter uremia when they are about 40 years old, even if they enter uremia, through dialysis treatment, the patients still have a few years to ten years of life.
