Are there sequelae of ureteral cyst removal?

Ureteral cyst removal generally does not have sequelae, but the individual condition varies greatly, there may be ureteral stenosis, ureteral cyst recurrence, infection and other complications.
1. Ureteral stenosis: after ureteral cyst excision, due to the destruction of local normal ureteral tissue, postoperative scar tissue proliferation may occur locally, if the patient is scarred, ureteral cyst excision is more likely to occur after ureteral scar hyperplasia, scar hyperplasia after excessive ureteral stenosis may be caused.
2. Ureteral cyst recurrence: If the ureteral cyst is not removed completely, the residual cyst wall may regrow and form a new ureteral cyst after surgery.
3. Infection. If no attention is paid to aseptic operation during ureteral surgery and no prophylactic antibiotics are used after surgery, sequelae such as ureteral infection may occur after surgery.
Since the above complications may occur after ureteral cyst surgery, regular review is needed after ureteral cyst surgery.
