There is no medical term for “late growth”.
A short child with low height and weight, behind in bone age, and behind in the amount and rate of height growth compared to normal may indicate slow growth. The rate of growth varies from child to child and should be observed dynamically and treated as soon as possible if pathologic factors are considered.
The rate of growth of the child’s height has a great deal of individual variability, some children will grow faster, some children will grow slower, and there will be a great deal of variability in different periods of time.
Therefore, it is usually necessary to observe your child’s height growth dynamically and measure his/her height every six months. If the height growth continues to be slow, it is necessary to consider timely examination in the hospital to clarify the specific causes, and then carry out targeted treatment.
In medicine, there is no difference between early and late growth. The growth and development rate has a certain individual variability, and diet, nutrition and genetic factors are related, so you need to dynamically observe the child’s height growth.
