There are several reasons why patients have pain in the back of the head when they get up from sleep: 1. For example, because of improper sleep posture, the patient’s previous problems such as cervical disc herniation, vertebral instability and spinal stenosis may cause the patient’s neck muscles to be in a state of strain, causing the scalp at the back of the head to be stretched, and therefore pain may occur. 2. If the patient has a previous history of neurological headache or migraine, it is possible that the attack is a primary headache. 3. very intense, accompanied by jet-like vomiting, it is considered to be caused by serious diseases such as subarachnoid hemorrhage or cerebellar hemorrhage, and prompt medical consultation must be sought.
