What causes breast enlargement in men

Male breast enlargement is also known as male breast development. Male breast development may be caused by physiological factors such as physiological estrogen increase, physiological testicular degeneration and pathological factors such as testicular insufficiency and orchitis.
1. Physiological estrogen increase: mostly seen in neonatal period and puberty, due to the fluctuation of estrogen transfer from mother’s body in neonatal period and hormone level in puberty, resulting in estrogen increase, leading to the appearance of physiological male mammary gland development.
2. Physiological testicular degeneration: physiological gynecomastia can occur in older men due to testicular degeneration and decreased androgen production, resulting in hormonal imbalance.
3. Testicular insufficiency: If testicular insufficiency occurs due to genital malformation, it will cause a decrease in male androgen level, and hormone level disorder in the body, which will easily lead to gynecomastia.
4. Testicular inflammation: due to the low immunity of the body, cleaning is not in place, easy to cause bacterial infection, inflammation occurs, so that the testicular secretion of androgen is affected, the body’s hormone level imbalance, then there will be the occurrence of male breast development.
In addition, there may be other reasons such as excessive intake of exogenous estrogen and other causes of gynecomastia, it is recommended to go to a professional hospital for examination and treatment as prescribed by the doctor.
