How to treat swollen feet due to nephrotic syndrome

Swollen feet caused by nephrotic syndrome is related to hypoproteinemia and sodium retention, which can be treated by dietary regulation, diuresis to reduce swelling, reduction of urinary protein and immunosuppression. 1. Dietary regulation: Supplementary protein, give a normal amount of 0.8~1.0g/(kg-d) of high-quality protein (animal protein rich in essential amino acids), not only can correct hypoproteinemia, but also can avoid high protein diet; low-salt diet, limiting the sodium intake, can reduce sodium retention. 2. Diuretic swelling: diuretics can assist in discharging excess water in the body, thus reducing edema. The principle of treatment is that it should not be too fast and too violent, so as not to cause blood volume insufficiency, aggravate the tendency of hyperviscosity of the blood, and induce thrombosis and embolism complications. Commonly used diuretics are hydrochlorothiazide tablets, furosemide tablets, spironolactone capsules and so on. 3. Reduce urinary protein: Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI) or angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), in addition to effective control of hypertension, can reduce intraglomerular pressure and directly affect the glomerular basement membrane permeability to macromolecules, play a role in reducing urinary protein, the representative drugs are enalapril maleate tablets, valacyclovir capsules and so on. 4. Immunosuppression: commonly used drugs include glucocorticoids and cytotoxic drugs, representing drugs such as prednisone acetate tablets, cyclophosphamide, cyclosporine and so on. It is recommended that patients go to the hospital in a timely manner, actively cooperate with the doctor for standardized treatment, the drugs need to be used in accordance with the doctor’s instructions, do not self-medication.
