What does a strong echogenic mass in the liver mean

Intrahepatic strong echogenic masses suggest the presence of calcification, intrahepatic bile duct stones, hemangiomas and other lesions in the liver, which require further investigation by CT or MRI. Intrahepatic echogenic mass is an imaging description of ultrasound. Under normal circumstances, the echoes obtained after ultrasound of the liver are homogeneous echoes. When there is a lesion in the liver, the liver ultrasound may show abnormal echoes such as weak echogenic masses and strong echogenic masses. Typically, strong echogenic clusters are indicative of lesions that are denser than normal liver tissue, such as intrahepatic calcification foci, intrahepatic bile duct stones, and hemangiomas. The specific nature of the lesion should be diagnosed in combination with clinical symptoms and CT and MRI examinations. It is recommended to consult a doctor in time and have the diagnosis made by a professional doctor after completing relevant examinations.
