A day without pooping is also normal. If accompanied by abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, fever, blood in the stool and other symptoms need to be alert to the possibility of disease, common intestinal obstruction, intussusception, Crohn’s disease, intestinal tumors and so on.
1. Normal condition: Normal defecation frequency is 1~3 times a day with soft stools, no mucus, blood and other conditions, and no discomfort.
2. Disease conditions:
(1) If intestinal obstruction, there may be symptoms such as vomiting, abdominal pain, stopping of bowel movement and gas evacuation, and abdominal plain film is needed to investigate.
(2) For intussusception, symptoms such as vomiting, abdominal pain, blood in stool, etc., abdominal ultrasound is needed.
(3) Crohn’s disease may have symptoms such as abdominal pain, abdominal distension, etc., which need to be examined by colonoscopy.
(4) If intestinal tumors may have symptoms such as weight loss, blood in stool, anemia, etc., enteroscopy and tumor markers should be performed.
If there is no symptom of discomfort and no abnormality in bowel habit and nature of stool, observation can be continued. If there is any abnormality, it is recommended to consult a doctor to investigate the possibility of the disease.
