Malignant bone tumors are tumors between bones or other tissues, and the traditional treatment mostly adopts amputation treatment to completely remove the primary lesion. With the development of chemotherapeutic drugs and chemotherapeutic regimens and the continuous improvement of medical technology, limb preservation technology has been widely carried out and has given hope to many bone tumor patients. However, not all patients with bone tumor can be treated with limb preservation, and certain conditions are required for limb preservation: 1. the tumor does not invade the important blood vessels and nerves; 2. the tumor can be completely removed outside the tumor, and good surgical boundaries can be obtained; 3. the local recurrence rate after limb preservation surgery should not be higher than that of amputation; 4. the local soft tissue conditions are still good, and it is expected that the function of the preserved limb will be better than that of prosthesis; and 5. the limb can be preserved with the use of chemotherapy and chemotherapy. The function of the preserved limb is expected to be better than that of a prosthesis. Doctor’s tip: Bone tumor patients should not be obsessed with limb preservation, and should be judged by the doctor according to the patient’s condition to determine whether they are eligible for limb preservation treatment.
