How to care for BCG pustules in infants

Red nodules will appear seven days to half a month after BCG vaccination, and then they will slowly grow in size and become pustules at 6-8 weeks, which is normal and does not require treatment. Wait for the pustules to break down naturally and then scab over. The pustules should not be disinfected with alcohol or iodophor, otherwise the BCG vaccine will be inactivated. Pay attention to the hygiene of the vaccination site, wear cotton clothes and do not tighten them too much. If the pus is broken and pus flows out, wipe it with a clean cotton swab instead of squeezing it with your hands.
