How soon can I be discharged from the hospital after surgery for intertrochanteric fracture of the femur?

In patients with intertrochanteric fractures, the general consensus now is that the patient should be treated surgically within 48 hours of admission to the hospital. Of course, this may be delayed a bit due to the timing of the examination. As long as the patient’s vital signs are stable and the blood tests are not abnormal, for example, the white blood cells are not high and the hematocrit is normal, the patient should be encouraged to be discharged early and enter the rehabilitation phase, which takes about 3-6 days.
