How to read the six hormone report

Hormone 6 refers to the six sex hormones, including luteinizing hormone, prolactin, follicle-stimulating hormone, estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone, and any level above or below the normal range is considered abnormal. 1. Luteinizing hormone: Luteinizing hormone may be caused by premature ovarian failure, menopause, etc. Lower luteinizing hormone may be caused by hypopituitarism or Schihan’s syndrome. 2. Prolactin: high prolactin level is usually caused by pituitary tumor, hypothalamic tumor, hypothyroidism and so on. 3. Follicle-stimulating hormone: if the test result shows that the follicle-stimulating hormone is lower than the normal level, it means that the patient may have pseudo-precocious puberty, pituitary dysfunction, polycystic ovary syndrome and other diseases, and a high level of follicle-stimulating hormone may be caused by ovarian failure. 4. Estradiol: Estradiol level is mainly used to assess the patient’s menstruation, low estradiol may be caused by ovarian hypoplasia or premature ovarian failure. 5. Progesterone: Progesterone is mainly used to monitor ovulation and normal function of the corpus luteum in non-pregnant women, which can initially determine whether the patient has abnormal ovulation. 6. Testosterone: If the test result shows that testosterone is too high, it may be caused by masculinization, hirsutism, polycystic ovary syndrome and other reasons. Hormones in the body are different at different times, and it is recommended that patients interpret the relevant reports under the guidance of a professional doctor, so as to avoid improper interpretation of the delayed condition or panic, anxiety and other negative emotions.
