Aliskiren belongs to the second generation of non-peptide renin blocking drugs for blood pressure. Aliskiren blocks the RAS system, reduces renin activity, and decreases AngII and aldosterone production, thereby lowering blood pressure and treating cardiovascular disease. It can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive drugs, mostly with diuretics and angiotensin receptor antagonists, and the combination can enhance the antihypertensive effect. Although the antihypertensive effect of Aliskiren is obvious, it is easy to cause diarrhea if used in excess. The main adverse effects of Aliskiren are diarrhea, headache, nasopharyngitis, dizziness, fatigue, upper respiratory tract infection, back pain and cough. Aliskiren is contraindicated in people who are allergic to the active ingredient of Rexley or any other excipient. It should also be contraindicated in people with a history of angioedema caused by aliskiren. It is recommended to use the drug alone or in combination with other medications under the supervision of a doctor to achieve better antihypertensive effects.
