Is there a relationship between high bilirubin and liver cysts?

Liver cysts usually do not cause high bilirubin, but if they cause bile duct compression and obstruction, lesions that damage liver function and other pathologic injuries, they may lead to high blood bilirubin levels, which need to be treated with medication, surgery and other treatments.
Hepatic cysts are benign lesions that are cystic disorders of the liver due to embryonic developmental disorders, pathogen infections, and other causes. It may present with upper abdominal mass, abdominal pain and other manifestations. If the cyst enlarges and compresses the intrahepatic bile ducts resulting in poor bile drainage and the lesion damages the function of the surrounding liver tissues, it may cause obstructive or hepatocellular high blood bilirubin levels or jaundice.
It is recommended to consult a doctor promptly if you have liver cysts or abnormally high bilirubin levels.
