The time of recurrence after surgery for early stage lung cancer cannot be predicted; it may be less than two years after surgery, two to three years after surgery, or it may never recur. The time of recurrence varies according to different tissue types and different conditions of oneself. 1. Lung cancer can be broadly categorized into non-small cell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer. Among them, small cell lung cancer is highly malignant, grows rapidly, is prone to early metastasis and has poor surgical resection effect. Therefore, when the patient’s lung cancer pathological tissue is small cell lung cancer and he/she is older, he/she may have recurrence in less than two years after surgery. 2. If the tissue type of lung cancer is squamous carcinoma, and the malignant cells are highly differentiated, with small cellular heterogeneity, and the patient is younger and finds the cancer earlier, the surgery basically removes the tumor cells, and the recurrence time may be 2-3 years or even longer.
