Which is the best lumbar traction device

Of all the lumbar traction devices, the ones that provide opposite pull on the patient’s lower back are the most effective. There are many types of lumbar traction devices available, but the main principle is that the upper part of the body, i.e., the thoracic area, and the lower part of the body, below the pelvis, are immobilized, and then opposing forces are applied to these two areas to provide continuous opposing traction on the lumbar region. This type of instrumentation is more effective as it allows the patient to be in the supine position with continuous traction on the lumbar spine. Lumbar traction cannot be accomplished in a short period of time or intermittently, and is only effective if the force on the lumbar region is sustained. In addition, there are some devices that can also provide opposite traction on the waist, but because they use the patient’s own body weight to complete the traction, it is possible that the patient will feel more fatigue or not be able to tolerate it for a long time, so it is not particularly convenient to use. The patient should choose a device that can be used continuously in the supine position.
