What’s wrong with double vision after strabismus surgery?

The manifestation of double vision within a short period of time after strabismus surgery is relatively common in clinic, mainly because the degree of correction during surgery is too large, it is possible to have postoperative double vision; because strabismus exists for too long, it has already tolerated to look at things in a state of strabismus, when the eyes are suddenly corrected to a very normal position, on the contrary, they are not adapted to it, and so double vision occurs. In this case, it is recommended that in the early stage there is usually no need to deal with, if you feel that the symptoms are very obvious, you can block one eye with a cover and look with the other, alternating in turn until the diplopia symptoms are completely back to normal. If in this way the diplopia symptoms are persistent, such as the presence of a month or even longer, in this case it is recommended that a second operation to make the eye position smaller again, without the manifestation of double vision.
