There is no best way to eliminate age spots, but they can be treated with freezing, laser, electrocautery, surgery and other treatments according to their condition. Age spots, also known as seborrheic keratosis, are the most common benign epidermal proliferative tumors in the elderly. The condition progresses slowly and usually requires no treatment. 1. Freezing: Liquid nitrogen can be used to freeze the local tissues to make them necrotic, so as to remove the age spots, but local hyperpigmentation or depigmentation spots may appear after the treatment. 2. Laser: Intense pulsed light, super pulsed carbon dioxide (CO₂) laser and other treatments can be used to remove the lesions. 3. Electrocautery: It mainly utilizes the heat produced by electric current to destroy the skin lesions. 4. Surgery: when age spots are suspected to have malignant changes, they can be removed by surgery, and histopathological examination is performed after surgery to confirm the diagnosis. It is suggested that patients should go to the dermatology department of regular hospitals and follow the doctor’s instruction to choose the appropriate treatment for treatment.
