The treatment of autism in adults includes both pharmacological and non-pharmacological components. The main measure is to continue the rehabilitation and education of adults to maximize the prognosis. Patients with neuropsychiatric symptoms, threats to others or safety, and symptoms that affect daily life can be treated symptomatically with medications such as aripiprazole, which can improve psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations and delusions, and can also improve self-injurious, aggressive, and suicidal behaviors in autistic patients. Autism usually starts in infancy and early childhood, and the clinical manifestations of autism are usually detected at 12-24 months of age, while some children with milder symptoms may not be detected until 36 months of age, and adults with autism are chronically affected by autism in infancy and early childhood.
