If the patient’s pulse pressure difference is less than 20 mmHg, it is considered to be a reduced pulse pressure difference, and the medication needed for this condition depends mainly on what the disease is that is causing the reduced pulse pressure difference. For example, if the reduced pulse pressure is due to hyperlipidemia, it is recommended that the patient take oral medications such as Rosuvastatin and Atorvastatin. If the decrease in pulse pressure is due to diabetes, it is recommended that the patient can take oral hypoglycemic drugs like metformin or subcutaneous insulin to control blood sugar, and it is possible that the decrease in pulse pressure will be improved. There are also patients who may have reduced pulse pressure due to obesity, for such patients should be combined with exercise to lose weight. If the decrease in pulse pressure is due to severe heart failure, it is recommended that the patient can correct the heart failure by combining furosemide and sodium nitroprusside with static dosing.
