Asthma attacks have the potential to cause death. 1. Bronchial asthma, a heterogeneous disease characterized by chronic airway inflammation and airway hyperresponsiveness, manifests itself during an asthma attack with varying degrees of expiratory dyspnea, which may be accompanied by shortness of breath, chest tightness, or coughing. Symptoms can flare up within minutes and last for hours to days, with poor relief without the aid of asthma medications. 2. The prevalence of adult asthma in China is 1.24%, and is on the rise year by year, the death rate of asthma in China is (1.6~36.7)/100,000, and most of them are related to the poor control of asthma for a long period of time, as well as the untimely treatment of the last attack. However, the main cause is related to the emergence of complications, such as pneumothorax, mediastinal emphysema, and pulmonary atelectasis, which can occur in the course of severe asthma attacks. When asthma is present, it is recommended to consult a specialist in a timely manner, to standardize treatment, and to follow up regularly.
