Meningitis with high fever can reach up to 40°C or more, and the degree of fever varies in meningitis caused by different pathogens of infection. The common pathogens are viruses, bacteria, tuberculosis, and fungi. Viral and bacterial meningitis tend to cause high fever, with temperatures often reaching 39-40°C. Tuberculous meningitis is predominantly low fever, even in more severe cases, with temperatures around 38.5°C, mostly between 38-38.5°C. In the case of fungal meningitis, the temperature is variable, with high fever reaching 39°C even when the infection is severe, and sometimes even without fever if the disease is mild. After medication, the temperature curve will mostly show a downward trend. Many viral meningitis fevers last only 1-2 days and can be brought down to normal range soon after medication.
