The eighteen items of routine blood tests do not check for AIDS. Blood routine, also called blood cell analysis, is a basic examination of blood cells in the blood, including white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets, after blood collection. The 18 items in the blood count include eleven items in the white blood cell section, including the total number of white blood cells, neutrophil count, eosinophil count, basophil count, lymphocyte count, monocyte count, and the percentage of each of the above five types of white blood cells in the total number of white blood cells. There are six items in the red blood cell section, including red blood cell count, hemoglobin volume, red blood cell pressure volume, mean red blood cell volume, mean red blood cell hemoglobin volume, and mean red blood cell hemoglobin concentration. One item in the platelet section is the platelet count. AIDS is an infectious disease caused by HIV infection, and the blood test for AIDS is HIV antibody. The 18 blood tests do not check for antibodies to HIV, not AIDS.
