Primary immune thrombocytopenia usually takes 1~5 months to recover, but the recovery time will be different for individuals with different physique.
The main treatment for primary immune thrombocytopenia is glucocorticoids, platelet transfusion, gammaglobulin, thrombopoietin, and recombinant human activating factor VII. Each patient responds differently to the treatment, so how long it takes to recover from the treatment cannot be generalized.
For example, some patients respond well to the drugs and recover in 1 month; however, in some patients who apply the drugs continuously for 1 month without signs of improvement in thrombocytopenia, the recovery time is prolonged and may take about 5 months to recover. Even if there is no recovery for a long time, second-line treatment measures such as splenectomy are needed.
Patients are advised to follow the doctor’s instructions to standardize the treatment, and should maintain a good mindset in daily life, pay close attention to the drug reaction, and avoid factors that may lead to bleeding in their life.
