Chinese medicine treats edema by first distinguishing between yang water and yin water. Yang water focuses on dispelling evils, with sweating to dispel dampness and detoxification as the mainstay. (3) Water-dampness impregnation: manifested as generalized edema, especially in the lower limbs, depression when pressed, and short urine, etc. The treatment principle is to transport the spleen to eliminate dampness and promote yang-liquidity, and the treatment principle is to use Wu Pi Drink combined with Gastro-ling Soup. 2. Yin water (1) Spleen-Yang deficiency (deficiency of yang qi in the spleen): manifested by prolonged swelling of the body, especially below the waist, not easy to recover from the depression when pressed, etc. Treating the disease by strengthening the spleen, warming the yang and inducing diuresis (replenishing the yang qi in the body and promoting the circulation of water and fluids), and choosing Real Spleen Drink. (2) Kidney-Yang Weakening and Weakness Certificate: manifesting as swelling of the face and body, swelling below the waist, depression that is not easy to recover when pressed, lumbar soreness and cold pain, etc. The treatment principle is to warm the kidney and help Yang (warming and replenishing the kidney’s Yang Qi), and to transform Qi and promote the flow of water (promoting the movement of gas, thus promoting the movement of water), and the treatment principle is to use Kidney-Qi Pill combined with Zhenwu Tang.
