What does it mean to have an inflammatory nodule larger than 1cm in the lungs?

Inflammatory nodules larger than 1 cm in the lungs are mainly nodules with lesions larger than 1 cm in extent that are confirmed to be caused by inflammation after examination or treatment. Inflammatory nodules are diagnosed when a CT examination of the lungs reveals nodular lesions in the lungs with blurred margins, irregular morphology, and a diameter larger than 1 cm, and when the lesion decreases in size through anti-infective treatment or when inflammatory tissue is found through a puncture biopsy; such nodules are not a cause for concern, and most of them can be gradually reduced or even disappeared with medication. Some of the lesions diagnosed as inflammatory nodules are eventually found to be tumors. Therefore, after the diagnosis of inflammatory nodules is made, it is still necessary to closely follow up the diagnosis, and once the nodules are found to continue to increase in size, it is necessary to do further treatment under the guidance of the clinician.
