How to take Wei Ling Xian

Wei Ling Xian can be decocted, or taken in pills, powder, or soaked in wine. Wei Ling Xian has the effect of dispelling wind-dampness and opening the meridians. Wei Ling Xian is pungent, salty and warm in nature. It belongs to the bladder meridian. It is used for rheumatism paralysis, numbness of limbs, contracture of tendons and veins (persistent tension and stiffness of muscles), and unfavorable flexion and extension. If Wei Ling Xian is used to treat rheumatism-induced pain in the limbs and pain in the feet (due to exogenous dampness and wind toxicity, or dietary oil and grease injuries, accumulation of dampness and heat, and the flow of the legs and feet into the symptoms of numbness and pain in the legs and feet) and other conditions, often used with Qiang Wu, Duhu, and Cow’s Knee, and so on; treatment of gout, upper, middle, and lower pain, and dampness and wind pain, and Qiang Wu, Fenghui, and Nanxing, etc., and used with the same. It should be noted that qi and blood deficiency and pregnant women should take it with caution. During the period of taking Wei Ling Xian, it is necessary to strictly follow the doctor’s instructions, and should stop taking the medicine in time and then consult a doctor for treatment if there are any uncomfortable symptoms.
