Can mog antibody-positive encephalitis be cured?

MOG antibody-positive encephalitis is difficult to cure completely and tends to recur, but symptoms can be relieved by treatment.
MOG is a myelin protein expressed on the membrane of oligodendrocytes and is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily consisting of 218 amino acids. There are various clinical phenotypes of MOG antibody-positive encephalitis, such as optic neuritis, acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, transverse myelitis, and brainstem inflammation.
The diagnosis is confirmed by clinical manifestations, combined with blood and cerebrospinal fluid MOG antibody titers, and is usually treated with a combination of glucocorticosteroids such as prednisone and/or immunosuppressive agents such as merti-macrolide.
It is recommended that patients with MOG antibody-positive encephalitis seek prompt medical attention and active treatment under the guidance of a doctor. The use of medication should be in accordance with the doctor’s instructions, and should not be self-administered.
