There is a ringing sound in the ear when chewing, clinically there are mainly the following possibilities: 1. The patient has cerumen inside the ear canal, when the patient is doing chewing, due to muscle pulling and other stimuli, the cerumen has shaking and moving inside the ear canal, thus causing the vibration of the eardrum to appear as a sound. Clinically, in cases like this, if the patient stops chewing, the sound disappears. Sometimes this sound also occurs when the patient is shaking his head. Clinically, it is recommended that the patient go to the ENT department to check the condition of the ear canal and be able to see that there is cerumen inside the ear that is attached to the eardrum. In this case, the cerumen can be sucked out or flushed out and the ear ringing will disappear when the patient chews; 2. Some patients have temporomandibular joint disorder syndrome and when chewing, especially when eating hard things, there will be joint friction sounds, thus appearing inside the ear with Rattling sound. In this case, the patient is examined by a stomatologist and treated with symptomatic hot compresses and physical therapy. Once the joint rubbing sound disappears, the ringing in the ear will be gone. All in all, patients with ear ringing when chewing are advised to go to the relevant departments such as ENT and oral surgery for consultation and treatment.
