What breast cancer patients need to pay attention to after surgery

After breast cancer surgery, patients can stay in the hospital for 1-2 days for observation and then be discharged home for post-operative recovery. Things to note after discharge: 1. Maintain a good mood. Breast cancer is a curable disease, and a significant portion of our patients are cured, so there is no need to worry about your condition. A relaxed and happy mood is an important condition for smooth recovery and early recovery. 2. There is no special contraindication for post-operative diet, except for placenta, royal jelly and propolis products, all other foods can be consumed. Try not to eat too stimulating and greasy food within 3-5 days after surgery, because the surgery will have a short-term impact on gastrointestinal function. 3, moderate activity is not related, should not go out or strenuous activities in the short term. The affected limb is eating, and moderate back and forth and abduction movements are not related, and excessive lifting or pulling is not advisable in the short term. Do not sleep on the affected side and do not squeeze the affected limb. Most of the patients have drainage tubes after breast cancer surgery, so they need to follow the doctor’s instruction to change the medicine and remove the drainage tubes at the appropriate time. 5.After surgery, the patient’s complete routine paraffin pathology and immunohistochemistry results will come out (the time of report may vary from hospital to hospital), so you should communicate with your attending doctor when you can get the complete results and ask him to check them, and ask him to inform the patient’s specific situation and give a follow-up comprehensive treatment plan. 6.Breast cancer patients have chemotherapy, targeted therapy, radiotherapy, endocrine therapy and other comprehensive treatments besides surgery, so pay special attention to the follow-up treatment advice from your doctor. Do you need targeted therapy? Do you need radiotherapy? Do you need endocrine therapy? 7.At present, most of our employees’ medical insurance and New Agricultural Cooperative patients can apply for outpatient major diseases, and most of the related expenses can be reimbursed in the follow-up outpatient medication and review, and family members can bring the patient’s pathology results, discharge records and outpatient medical records to the hospital or local medical insurance department for outpatient major diseases. 8. There is no need to rush the follow-up treatment. For example, if chemotherapy is needed, the reasonable time for chemotherapy is 4-6 weeks after surgery, we have enough time to recover from the surgery first and then proceed to the next treatment. 9. If you have any special discomfort after surgery, you should contact your primary care physician or treatment team or go back to the hospital in time. 10.I will talk about the postoperative functional exercise, prevention of lymphedema in the affected limbs, follow-up review and other issues in the corresponding chapters.
