What should breast cancer patients pay attention to after surgery

The post-surgical care of breast cancer patients is very important. As the saying goes, a disease should be treated in three parts and nourished in seven parts, which emphasizes the importance of nourishing the disease. After breast cancer surgery, hospitals and families will certainly give patients good treatment and care, and breast cancer patients themselves should not just accept passively, but should actively make some efforts. The active cooperation of patients is an important factor to ensure the effectiveness of treatment. First of all, breast cancer patients themselves should build up the confidence to overcome the disease and maintain optimism. Of course, it is understandable that having cancer is a painful thing. After surgery, losing one breast in exchange for life, but not knowing how long that life will last, is a fatal blow to every woman who loves life. But, hang in there! Clench your teeth, hold on to the end, walk through, the front may be spring! Sometimes, strong faith works miracles. Moreover, for those cases with early stage of disease and intraoperative lymph node metastasis not yet found, there is even more reason to be confident because the prognosis of such cases is usually quite good, with survival rates of more than 5 years after surgery often reaching more than 90%, and quite a few patients can survive tumor-free or with tumor for 10 to 20 years after surgery, and some of them can survive tumor-free for more than 20 years, that is, they have been clinically cured. Therefore, patients should not be frustrated, but should cheer up and be fully prepared psychologically and physically for the next step of treatment. After solving the mental problems, you should try to get through the postoperative recovery period smoothly, cooperate with medical and nursing care, recover your strength as soon as possible, and prepare for radiotherapy, chemotherapy or other treatments. Eat nutritious food as much as possible, ensure sufficient sleep, do some activities within your ability, and perform postoperative physical exercises. During the period of post-operative radiotherapy or chemotherapy, reduce going out, add or remove clothes at the right time, avoid catching a cold, and eat as much as you can. No matter what kind of treatment you receive, insist on completing the prescribed course of treatment as long as possible, and do not give up halfway. During the clinical remission period of breast cancer, you can do appropriate light work with the consent of your doctor. Actively participating in society and doing something worthwhile to improve your quality of life is beneficial to the recovery of the disease. Just be careful not to overexert yourself, and always adjust your workload and work intensity according to your health condition. In addition, one should be considerate of one’s family members, whose pain and pressure is no less than that of the patient himself, and not to worry about trouble for no reason, which not only makes the family members more painful, but also the bad mood is very detrimental to the disease. A normal and calm state of mind is the prerequisite and basic guarantee for the ultimate healing of the disease.
