Hypertension medication should be taken orally before meals, especially on an empty stomach before breakfast. Because most of the hypertensive patients are arytenoid hypertension, that is to say, the blood pressure is elevated in the morning from 6 to 10 o’clock, and in the afternoon from 16 to 20 o’clock, while the blood pressure is decreased in the middle of the night. For such patients, we usually choose long-acting antihypertensive drugs and take them in the morning on an empty stomach to achieve good blood pressure control throughout the day. However, in the case of non-ascending hypertension or anti-ascending hypertension, the time of medication should be adjusted.
