Pediatric laparoscopic hernia surgery is preceded by attention to preoperative preparation, preoperative and postoperative reassurance of the child, and more. Before performing laparoscopic hernia surgery on a pediatric patient, it is necessary to routinely make preoperative preparations. The main precautions include soothing the child’s emotions before surgery, helping to eliminate fear and other emotions, and obtaining the informed consent of the child and his family; fasting for 8 hours before surgery, and abstaining from drinking for 4 hours, to prevent asphyxia or aspiration pneumonia during the operation; and perfecting the relevant examinations to ensure that there is no serious cardiopulmonary disease. After the operation, the children should be informed of the operation, and pacify and encourage the children to help them get out of bed early. Communicate with the child more often to understand his/her physical recovery.
