Hiccups, commonly known as hiccups, are contraction movements caused by spasm of the diaphragm and a short sound made by the sudden closure of the vocal cords during inspiration. It can occur unilaterally or bilaterally in the diaphragm. In normal healthy people, hiccups can be caused by rapid swallowing, sudden swallowing of air or sudden increase in intra-abdominal pressure, which can mostly subside on its own, but some can persist for a long time and become persistent hiccups. Simple diaphragmatic spasm in Western medicine and other diseases such as gastrointestinal neurosis, gastritis, gastric dilatation, gastric cancer, advanced cirrhosis, cerebrovascular disease, uremia, and diaphragmatic spasm caused by gastric and intestinal surgery are all in the category of Chinese medicine erratic. The etiology is mainly due to diet, emotional factors, or deficiency of positive qi, or cold, heat, phlegm, or depression, all of which can cause the stomach to lose harmony and lowering, and the stomach qi to rebel. The acupuncture and moxibustion department of the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine has rich experience in treating this disease, and the clinical efficacy is precise. The basic treatment method is to regulate the qi and stomach, lower the rebelliousness and calm the eruption, often using Tiantu, Tanzhong, Zhonggui, Diaphragmatic acupoint, Zanzhu, Neiguan, and Feosanli as the main points, and other matching points are selected according to different evidence. It can also be combined with acupuncture point injection: Gastrodia + vitamin B1 acupuncture point injection of double Neiguan or Foot San Li, which has a more satisfactory effect on persistent erratic reflux. Acute intestinal obstruction refers to the obstruction of the normal passage of intestinal contents in the intestine caused by various reasons. The condition is complex, develops rapidly, and can often be life-threatening if not treated properly. The common clinical manifestations are severe abdominal pain, vomiting, abdominal distension, and cessation of defecation and exhaustion. Generally, it can be divided into three categories: mechanical intestinal obstruction, dynamic intestinal obstruction (paralytic is common) and ischemic intestinal obstruction. Acupuncture has certain auxiliary therapeutic effects on intussusception, adhesive intestinal obstruction, paralytic intestinal obstruction, etc. Regarding the mechanism of action of acupuncture for acute intestinal obstruction, some studies reveal that with the participation of neurological and humoral factors, acupuncture may promote the release of intestinal obstruction by adjusting intestinal function, improving blood flow, and enhancing absorption. The main acupuncture points are: Zhonggui, Dajang, Feosanli, Daoyu, Tianshu, and Shangjiuxu. Combined with electroacupuncture and warm acupuncture, the effect is better. In addition, acupuncture point injection can be used: 0.25% to 0.5% procaine injection, neostigmine or atropine injection, acupuncture point injection of foot San Li, Tianshu or Neiguan. The use of acupuncture means to treat mild to moderate adhesive intestinal obstruction and paralytic intestinal obstruction (when there is no indication for surgery) is the characteristic treatment of the acupuncture and massage room of the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which can improve the treatment effect and effectively shorten the course of treatment.
